at present, there are 31839 packaging and printing enterprises in China, accounting for 34.46% of the 92389 printing enterprises in China. In 2003, the sales volume of packaging and printing reached 89.6 billion yuan (accounting for 48% of the total output value of the whole printing industry), which increased by 12% compared with 2002. The number of employees was about 1million, accounting for 1/3 of the total number of printing enterprises in China

four major problems of domestic packaging and printing enterprises at present

1. Low level repeated construction has resulted in convenient overall operation, production capacity exceeding market demand, and some packaging and printing enterprises have idle equipment and insufficient start-up

2. From the perspective of the packaging and printing industry, there is not only a large gap between the southeast coast and the western region, but also from the development of the past two years, the gap between the north and the South has a further widening trend

3. On the whole, the capital investment is not enough, and the introduction and application of new technologies and equipment are not enough

4. On the whole, insufficient attention is paid to the construction of corporate culture

the development of packaging and printing industry in Guangdong Province is only a highlight of the national packaging and printing industry. First of all, paper products packaging based on folding cartons will have greater development space. Because folding carton can not only meet the requirements of carton closure and high-speed automatic packaging machine, but also suitable for packaging printing and online processing

secondly, multilayer paperboard composites are more and more widely used. As users have higher and higher requirements for the quality and performance of paper products, the consumption of multilayer materials has a further increase trend. For example, wine boxes and food boxes are mostly made of 2-3 layers of composite cardboard materials, and multi-layer materials (4-7 layers) based on paper will be more and more widely used in the field of paper packaging (such as beverage cartons) with high barrier requirements

paper and plastic are the two most widely used materials in the packaging and printing industry, and will coexist for a long time. Plastic flexible packaging plays an increasingly important role in many fields, such as food, medicine (there are more than 6000 pharmaceutical enterprises in China, with annual sales of 120billion yuan), health products, dairy products, cosmetics, washing supplies and so on. At present, the development of plastic packaging products in the world presents the following characteristics: new polyester packaging has a better future; New degradable plastics are concerned; Attention has been paid to zero pollution of foamed plastics

the development of domestic plastic packaging focuses on the following aspects: high barrier packaging materials that improve protection performance and prolong shelf life, such as the development and application of high barrier coextrusion composite film; Development and application of sterile packaging materials, antibacterial packaging films and radiation resistant packaging films: suitable for electromagnetic cookers and microwave oven heating packaging materials; Controlled atmosphere packaging of packaging materials suitable for the storage of agricultural products such as grain; Composite film for electromagnetic shielding; Web paper and sheet fed gravure printing products will have great development according to market needs. the sales volume of cosmetics in 2003 was 75billion yuan, with an annual growth rate of 10-15%, of which packaging and printing accounted for 15-20%, about 12-15 billion yuan. However, no matter which kind of plastic packaging is used, it must meet the requirements of green environmental protection: reduce waste pollution; solve the environmental protection problems of solvents; Achieving recycling and re-use not only challenges the composite industry, but also requires sustainable development
